Survey and Inventory/Archaeology
The Survey and Inventory/Archaeology service at the Bureau of Cultural and Historical Preservation (BCHP) plays a vital role in identifying, documenting, and protecting Palau’s archaeological and culturally significant sites.
Through this service, we conduct comprehensive surveys and evaluations across Palau’s islands to locate and preserve areas of historical, cultural, and architectural importance. Our work ensures that these invaluable resources are not lost to time and continue to be available for future generations to appreciate, learn from, and protect.
BCHP follows established legal frameworks to preserve Palau’s heritage and enforces standards and guidelines to protect its archaeological and cultural landscapes. Our archaeological surveys help in the identification of prehistoric and historic sites, culturally significant buildings, and landscapes, contributing to a better understanding of Palau’s past.
