History
The Bureau of Cultural and Historical Preservation was established in 1978 by the Palau Historical Preservation Act as Title 19, Chapter 1 of the Palau National Code. The Bureau implements Section 106 of the U.S Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended. The Bureau also helps the implementations of applicable Historical Preservation Laws in the sixteen states of Palau.
